Just to report that Tom and Kevin returned from their successful tour of several cities in the US, notably Houston Texas and Chicago where they addressed university students on our murals work back in Derry. Now that we have moved into a new gallery and people can actually find us without having to ask tourist operators who, for reasons best known to themselves, were shamelessly reluctant to impart such information, we might even be on our way to making a living from our own work much to the consternation of die-hard activists in the area who, with an infantile grasp of Marxist theory , have us pegged as three Richard Bransons. I kid thee not. The same boys are doing very well for themselves thank you very much and making more money out of our work than we can only dream of. We will continue with our workshops for kids regardless and use our gallery to exhibit their work and to give talks on THE PEOPLE’S GALLERY that we created. It’s a wicked world or what? It is ironic from our point of view to learn that the most ruthless capitalists we know of call themselves socialists. Go figure. And it seems hell will freeze over before any of them find something good to say about our work. Bad attitude doth not a revolutionary make. Our book dispels whatever delusions have been foisted on the gullible tourists about our work. If you want the real story……get it….. and help us pay our rent.

Exhibition on Troubles

Big new exhibion on at our gallery and running all this month. Not to be missed. A much sought after exhibition it features, photos, art works and commentaries from many people whose lives and consciousness was impacted by vicarious experiences of the Troubles that lasted for over three decades in N.Ireland. This is one of the most important exhibitions ever to have been assembled on the subject.  Powerful, disturbing, poetic and above all, human, it is only appropriate that it should makes its first appearance here at the Bogside Artists’ studio – the gateway to The Bogside. A large crowd attended and the director ( left with Kevin and Tom) referred to us flatteringly as the “The U2 of artists in Ireland”.  Great praise indeed. Great exhibition that will run to the end of the month.
